Monday, March 13, 2017 - This opaque ruby wine is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 17 months in French oak (20% new). Packed with black currants, loamy earth, pepper and tobacco, it is a medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.0%) offering that has substantial tannic grip. The middle palate is solid and the dry finish is medium in length. Although this wine is drinkable at this point, I suspect that short-term cellaring will soften the tannins and bring it into its sweet spot. As such, it may merit a higher score in the future. Drink 2019-2023.
