  • Popped and poured, dark ruby/purple. Overt aromas of blackberry, cassis, unlit cigar, pencil lead, vegetal funk and an inflection of vanilla. Medium-plus body. Archetypal Cab, albeit youthful; think flavors of dark berries and black cherry interspersed with hints of earth and herbaceous notes of mint. And although perhaps lacking a bit in complexity, exceptional balance makes up for it, with reasonable acidity perfectly complimenting chewy tannins on the moderate close.
An outstanding value in Cabernet, one that will age well over the short to medium term; give this 30 minutes of air after opening and enjoy.

  • This opaque ruby wine is comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 17 months in French oak (20% new). Packed with black currants, loamy earth, pepper and tobacco, it is a medium-bodied, freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.0%) offering that has substantial tannic grip. The middle palate is solid and the dry finish is medium in length. Although this wine is drinkable at this point, I suspect that short-term cellaring will soften the tannins and bring it into its sweet spot. As such, it may merit a higher score in the future. Drink 2019-2023.

  • V- Crimson; I said rust, N said ruby...so right in the middle
N- cake, strawberry, raspberry, green pepper, 'fresh', mushroom funk after opening an hour
P- Tang, earth, spice, strawberry jam. Lingering faint chocolate note

  • Bordeaux-style, but meatier on the nose, a bit perfumed, with green pepper and smoke. Medium to dark red, dry, flat but harsh tannins, ripe blue fruits, medium length, rounded body, not too complex but nice.
