Friday, April 7, 2017 - This wine is one of the few 2001's that is taking a long time to evolve, and although it is at the beginning of its drinking window, to be fully appreciated it needs more time in the bottle. A good nose of red cherry and tobacco is restrained by its relative youth and similarly on the palate the tannin dominates. Ending with a good finish the wine does evolve in the glass but another year at least is needed to open it up.
