84 Points

Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - The score may suggest otherwise for those who think anything less than a 90 is undrinkable, but this wine has been a pleasant experiment. This is my final bottle, fully mature and at a plateau, but not yet in decline. The fruit, herb, and garrigue combination is simple, but delicious, and befitting the wine's stature - hardly profound, yet delightfully non-pretentious. The color is still a vibrant ruby, the nose a spicy cherry, and the finish clean if short. A great drinker with chicken thighs and Herbs du Provence. This bottle is always a worthwhile and consistent QPR.
