Wednesday, June 8, 2005 - this is the copy cat taster and i echo the sentiments- wow, wow, wow. the words multi-layered are often heard but rarely tasted. this wine has the most pronounced multiple layers i have experienced in my 30 years of tasting experience. in addition, the layers are separate and distinct with caramel at the top and citrus at the bottom. if i had named this wine, i would have called it orchestra. i suspect that the reason different reviewers pick up so many different flavor components is that the full spectrum is there. the golden color suggests that these musicians have been playing together for some time. while the conductor/maestro is aware of all the parts all of the time, the audience members tend to zero in on different instrument groups at different times. there are few solo performances here. most of the time, the strings, brass and woodwinds are perfectly balanced. this is another example of a beautifully made wine that has outlasted the reviewers expectations. nevertheless, i am glad that i went to the concert now because future performances are not likely to offer such wonderful harmonies.
