Friday, October 7, 2022 - Eight years in, this Fumin is still quite youthful if muted in its aromatic expression. Ruby with still some purple highlights in colour. Nose is initially very closed than opens up a bit to reveal some floral notes (geranium), white pepper, cherry and blueberry and after a good hour in a decanter, hints of mint and tobacco. On the palate it is quite balanced, slightly veering towards freshness. The notes on the palate are of fruit yet slightly greener tan on the palate. Decent wine though probably better 2-3 years back.
