Sunday, January 13, 2019 - Good. Less than excellent and not great QPR at £40, at least right now. Takes some time to open up, a good 3 to 4 hours. Initial taste is red fruit, some residual sugar, and very mild pepper hints. Finish is fairly short. After it warms up, it develops more savoury notes, sugar becomes less noticeable, pepper slightly more so, but it's never a big thing. A stemmy herbiness starts emerging. Everything comes together in one little hit with each sip, it doesn't really have waves of flavour, and it's all over a bit quickly. Mild fairly elegant tannins, but deceptively chewy. Acidity feels like it cuts through the tannins. I'd be pleased to pay £20 for this, £30 feels like too much.
