Sunday, December 18, 2016 - This would be the house wine on Planet Wine Geek. This does so many things well, and so many different kinds of things well: it really is built like a crowd-pleaser, pouring inky black with fruit concentration to match. But besides that, it's got all the mad Lacrima beauty, with that actually perfume-like perfume, all of that mixed floral bouquet aroma and flavor - rose, lily and iris in particular - with a comparably huge panoply of acidity types, include orange and passion fruit. The mid-palate density is quite good, especially considering this is a $10 wine (!), and the tannins, while present, are unobtrusive. At $10, maybe it should be your house wine too.
