Monday, February 26, 2018 - Translucent crimson color. Earthy nose to start, leavened by violets and subtle minerality. This starts with some sweet black and blue berry flavors on the otherwise lithe palate. This really lingers on the back of the tongue, with notes of chalkboard and a bright, floral sweetness. This finishes somewhat astringent, with moderately strong acidity. Very elegant for Pommard, this represents good work in a challenging vintage. Probably best to wait another 3-7 years for this to reach peak drinking.
