Saturday, April 13, 2024 - Decanted two hours and drank over another hour. Small Production averaging 1000 cases a year so very Pomerol like as far as production. Throwing sediment already. First sip I thought it had a lot of Cab Sauvignon. Musty Old World nose. Medium body. Smooth. I feel tannins are low and fruit still a bit tight and tart. I don’t think this is a 20 plus year wine. This is the most unique tasting 15 StE I’ve had so far but quite enjoyable and different. No idea where this goes. I’m inclined to wait another 6 months to a year to try again. I feel the Cab Franc is a bit young with some green notes. Maybe more bottle time helps. Agree QPR at $69 is too high.
