Friday, November 19, 2021 - No notes, only impressions- three bottles were shared with friends: 2017 Roses de Jeanne Cotes de Vilaine blanc d Noir, 2015 Valandraud and 2007 Spottswood. Very eclectic mix tonight but wanted to check in on the champagne and Valandraud which I assumed would both be early and wanted to make sure we also had a wine in a great spot- mission accomplished.

Knowing it’s not ready, it was a chateau I really wanted to visit and had booked but the Tour de France blocked roads forcing the chateau to cancel. Having only had one bottle of the first label (‘16), I was looking forward popping one from the cellar with open eyes it would not be ready. Drank over the course of a few hours (in decanter) with the last sip being the best, this wine needs years in bottle. Dark fruits and slightly closed, hold for another 2 years before pulling the cork. This wine will be excellent in a few years 92.5 with lots of upside.
