93 Points

Wednesday, February 7, 2024 - First of my six pack. upon opening, the aroma was blueberry compote, cassis and violet. Two hour decant in ETO. One of the heaviest of the Howell Mountain wines from this winery I've tasted. After two hours, the primary fruit was tied tightly with earth, wood and spice notes. Long taste held together with prominent tannin. Drank the first night over two hours and the wine mellowed and the nuances of the secondary and tertiary notes began to emerge.

I used the ETO to take the air out and stored at 55 degrees. Finished two nights later. This wine evolved into a complex, almost Bordeaux style wine. This wine should definitely jump up 2-4 points over the next decade. I will wait at least one year before cracking open another. This wine is an amazing wine at a great price.
