Saturday, May 21, 2016 - Tasted blind along side the 1998 Leoville Barton and 1998 Leoville Las Cases from half bottles. This wine stood out of the three, because the fruit was more red and elegant and it had a pronounced green streak that was either rolled tobacco or some herbal note. The wine was the smoothest on the palate and the easiest to drink. Over time some funk came out, not barnyard brett but clearly a funkiness. This wine was the easiest of the three to appreciate but the least impressive or complex. Still it was a wonderful wine. I think it is ready now and was probably read 5 years ago as well.
