Wednesday, September 28, 2016 - Montalcino Trip- Day 3 (Querce Bettina & Canalicchio Franco Pacenti) (Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy): Nose: There is a real freshness to the nose with it favoring the upper register along with strawberries, plums, red cherries, red florals, fresh picked berries, mineral tones, spices, roasted herbs, and bitter chocolate notes. There is great depth and lift to the nose with it being wide open even at this young stage.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ tannins and medium+ acidity. The feel is polished, elegant, and fresh with strawberries, plums, red cherries, fresh picked berries, mineral tones, spices, roasted herbs, and loads of red florals.

Overall: This is an outstanding young Brunello. It is highly aromatic and perfumed with a real purity to the tones and excellent depth. This can certainly develop over the next 8-10 years, it's extremely pretty right now.
