Friday, November 11, 2016 - Trying this a bit on the early side so I opened and let slow ox for 5 hours, then decanted for 90 minutes, then drank it over the evening. Blackberries and a hint of bacon on the nose, brilliant dark fruit on the palate with some creme de cassis. Smooth finish. Some heat initially that is dissipating now in the 2nd hour of decant. Lovely wine.
Later on------This is a BIG Syrah. Went well with a steak and is still opening up. IMO this wine will improve with a few years of cellar time. I'll try to wait another year for my next bottle. For now I say 94 but it will only get better from here
