Friday, November 20, 2020 - Medium gold color. The nose is fairly restrained, with yellow apple and sage. The palate shows relaxed, adolescent, "jellied" Riesling fruit, with flavors of Rainier cherry, candied pink grapefruit, and a creamy texture with well-integrated, tangy acidity. This is moderately sweet still, and like another recent '05 Spätlese, somewhat muted in its expression. Enjoyable, but maybe this vintage is in an in-between phase?
