Saturday, July 29, 2017 - Nose of tart cherries, sulfur (or coal?), black pepper and hints of spruce. Palate gives away quite a silky, transparent impression on the attack, but really is closer to an iron first. Quite expressive, lots of punch. Slight alcohol sting from the mid palate, unfortunately (I am rather sensitive in that department). Very nice but not special in any way. Could not help compare it with 2012 Azienda Agricola Cos Vittoria Pithos Rosso tasted exactly a week ago, which had a lot of the same components (perhaps a bit more development) but overall was performing on a higher level and much more balanced.
