Wednesday, August 1, 1990 - With Brett Raven and Michael Lehmann at the office. Black cherry/plum color. Looks deep, dark, rich. Almost opaque. Very complex, spicy bouquet; slightly barnyard. Pepper. Smells fabulous. In the mouth, just an overwhelming mouthful. Tons of crushed berries, tannin, acid and alcohol, all in great balance. Black fruits. Powerful and extroverted, this wine is not for the faint of heart. Could use some time to smooth out, but could go with hearty foods even now. Fine bottle. 5-12-16-7: 90/100.
