Wow. Complete, mature wine full of earth, barnyard, a slight hint of dark fruits. Full and retained a freshness with a well-balanced palate throughout and a long, integrated finish. Paired very well with 30-day dry aged Flannery NY Strips.
Wish I had more old Cabassaous...

Tempier Tasting (Tom's House, Palo Alto): Group's #8, my #6 (Yes, I thought other wines were worse than a corked wine.) Cheesy nose, reticent aromas, very short bitter finish. Flawed.

Singer & Foy survey of Domain Tempier. Good black cherry color. Nice fruit. Shy. Dense, earthy. Fruit on the palate. Long. Not as overtly fruity as some of the other wines. Decent. 5-10-14-6: 85/100.

At home with Kathy and Miranda at dinner (pasta with uncooked puttanesca sauce). Gorgeous wine. Black purple, with tremendous viscosity. Yet not opaque – not quite. Tremendous forward bouquet of voluptuous ripe raspberry fruit. Black pepper. Superb. In the mouth, it's a blockbuster, with firm, chewy, crunchy jammy fruit, held in perfect balance by good acidity. Very peppery. Long finish. Big wine, should be great with dinner. 5-12-16-8: 91/100.

With Brett Raven and Michael Lehmann at the office. Black cherry/plum color. Looks deep, dark, rich. Almost opaque. Very complex, spicy bouquet; slightly barnyard. Pepper. Smells fabulous. In the mouth, just an overwhelming mouthful. Tons of crushed berries, tannin, acid and alcohol, all in great balance. Black fruits. Powerful and extroverted, this wine is not for the faint of heart. Could use some time to smooth out, but could go with hearty foods even now. Fine bottle. 5-12-16-7: 90/100.

Exceptional mature Bandol. Drinking really nicely at this point. A beautiful wine. Menthol, Cassis, cola tint. WOW.
Drank from a magnum on New Years Eve with some close friends.

Fantastic. Cork seemed as if it had been up in the bottle yesterday. Still strong. Nice fruit and rounded tannins. Very nice.
