Monday, January 31, 2022 - First bottle of Clos d'Audignac and I must say it was better than anticipated; that said, I like the '14 vintage because I find it very terroir transparent and yet still delicious; the nose here was absolutely quintessential Volnay; fresh red fruits with a few hints of darker cassis, loads of floral notes, lots of minerality, just pleasure to smell for me; the palate is lifted and fresh, still with good depth, the tannins not quite resolved, but there is enough fruit to make this pleasurable now; will improve with another 4-5 years I think.
