This was drinking quite well tonight after just abit of air displaying an abundance of earthy, cool blue and red fruit and a core of firm minerality. There was good depth and concentration here. All in all, quite nice.

Pulled cork but no decant. I don’t decant Burgundy anymore because I like to see how it evolves during dinner. Typical red fruits, high acid but with nice structure, layering of flavors. Drank over 90 minutes with Chicken , Prosciutto, Garlic, Parmesan, Mushroom cream sauce. So great. I love the 14 Burgundies for the bright fruit and freshness. Underrated vintage IMO

First bottle of Clos d'Audignac and I must say it was better than anticipated; that said, I like the '14 vintage because I find it very terroir transparent and yet still delicious; the nose here was absolutely quintessential Volnay; fresh red fruits with a few hints of darker cassis, loads of floral notes, lots of minerality, just pleasure to smell for me; the palate is lifted and fresh, still with good depth, the tannins not quite resolved, but there is enough fruit to make this pleasurable now; will improve with another 4-5 years I think.

Didn’t decant the bottle. Pulled the cork a couple hours before dinner. Poured 1/3 glasses in Grassl Cru Glasses. Very dark color which in general doesn’t mean much.
A little ripe in style. Alcohol is 13% which is typical. This for sure is not a feminine Volnay. Wine is meaty, very full and a bigger style. Pommard would come to mind. Not Volnay. The wine is very good with high acidity and great balance. Nothing wrong here except for its not delicate.

Surprising amount of bricking for vintage. Savory notes starting to emerge. Way more mature than anticipated. Time to drink.

outstanding. fresh red cherry fruits with crisp acidity. Paired nicely with smoked BBQ pork ribs (sweet and spicy).

Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Woodsy red fruit. Meatier, earthier and more dense vs the other Volnays. Also better to cellar until at least 2020. Good for its level.
