Tuesday, February 16, 2016 - Made from purchased grapes. Fermented in stainless steel with cultivated yeasts.

Pale green color. Youthful, fruity nose with quite rich aromas of mirabelle plums, slivered almonds, some golden apples and a hint of hay. The wine is ripe, moderately full-bodied and pretty sweet-toned with fruit-forward flavors of stone fruits, cantaloupe, some chopped almonds, a little bit of golden apples and a hint of honey. Overall the wine feels rather big for an Arneis with medium-to-moderate acidity. The finish is rich and sweet-toned with ripe, juicy flavors of mirabelle plums and other yellow stone fruits, some apple jam, a little bit of apple peel bitterness, light almond tones and a hint of apricot marmalade.

A quite ripe and big but also enjoyable and tasty Arneis. Lacks the playful freshness and sense of structure of cooler vintages, but otherwise feels pretty varietally correct. Nothing particularly memorable, but a nice, fruity white wine all the same. If you want freshness and elegance, cooler vintages than 2015 are the way to go.
