Friday, November 4, 2011 - A weekend with friends in Germany Mosel area: Part 1: Rustic bouquet with a touch of barnyard and still a bit reticent. On the palate juicy red as well as black fruits, licorice, a touch of sweetness (from the alcohol?) and firm, still sticky tannin. This wine is still much too young.

I actually saw your note after seeing your CT on the vintage 2004 of Le Méal. I've seen a magnum of that wine for a relatively good price in a shop, but I guess there is a risk that the wine has passed its peak. What would you say?

And in case I come to Zurich in the foreseeable future, I will let you know and I will bring a bottle of le Pavillon 1999.
