Likes this wine:

91 Points

Monday, January 22, 2018 - Really had to come up with excuses to figure out why this wine didn't show better than previous times I've tasted it. Had at a restaurant and decanted for about 45 minutes - the stemware was garbage, so I think another point could have been added with proper pinot glasses. It was still tight, perhaps a little more time was needed in the decanter.

The fruit, which was present in prior tastings, was a little too muted - perhaps this bottle was going through an awkward dormant phase. The tannins were still present and the wine could use some more time. Will sit on my next bottle 3+ more years and hope it re-emerges.

I'm just disappointed it didn't show as well as I thought it would have for some friends... I've had Marcus's wine at the tasting room right after release and it was amazing.

I'm putting together a significant update to the Goodfellow website and adding a cellar page to offer as a resource for opening old bottles. We'll update it as we open older(and younger) bottles at the winery.
