Tuesday, April 5, 2022 - This was similar to a 2013 I drank last fall, which was purchased from my local wine shop, though this 2014 I picked up at auction. Neither was particularly enjoyable. I see the very high recent review scores given for the 2014 and am a bit puzzled. I don’t think this bottle was cooked or over the hill, yet it didn’t have much pleasure to give, similar to the 2013 - while the color was medium straw and texture silky, there was no discernible fruit, the primary flavor was tart almond paste, and the finish was a bit shrill. Finishing the bottle was achieved though that was more difficult out on day two.
