90 Points

Tuesday, January 14, 2014 - I paid $97.20 for this village Meursault in July of 2001. Comte Lafon was very much in demand like Claude Dugat and Dugat-Py. I wonder what the price of the 93 Rousseau Chambertin was. Clearly expressing the style of the house, butter scotch, ripe yellow fruits and ending in nice floral note coming from mineral note. Nice precisely palate, sweet, good acidity and long finish. This is a nice aged village wine that gets the complexity from bottle aging and overall relatively straightforward. Based on the recent samples of the 10s, Lafon seems to be having a renaissance.
