Tuesday, February 27, 2018 - Italian Wine Scholar at the Texas Wine School. This is a really elegant blend of 60% Pinot Bianco, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Medium straw yellow with some green hues. The SB comes through primarily on the nose, which is youthful and complex, with aromas of white peach, pear, passion fruit, vanilla and oak spice. The palate is very dry and crisp, with medium (+) to high acidity, medium (+) alcohol (14%). Partial malo, with aging on the lees for 12 months in large botti and tonneaux, adds a creamy note to balance the acidity. Medium (+) flavor intensity and salty minerality on the medium (+) long finish. Drinking well now although likely to increase in complexity with a little more bottle age. WS 91.
