Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - The 2009 Parker Coonawarra Estate First Growth captivates with its deep garnet color. The nose offers an enticing mix of ripe blackcurrant, subtle vanilla, and a hint of menthol, reflecting the distinctive terroir of Coonawarra. The palate is smooth and silky, showcasing a well-balanced blend of dark fruits, accompanied by secondary notes of supple leather and aged tobacco, which lend complexity and depth.

Although the finish is somewhat short, the wine maintains its poise and overall harmony, providing a pleasant tasting experience. My opinion based on sample of one is that it could be an ideal time to enjoy this wine, but it may also continue to evolve and offer new nuances in the next few years.
