Saturday, April 19, 2008 - This has the basic Leroy hallmarks, rich and pure, here with a bit of earthiness. But it is indeed a baby. The wonderful red fruit/strawberry notes on the palate quickly give way to pervasive acid that dominates the finish. Yes, eighteen years on, but not remotely the first 1990 Burgundy that for me fits this profile. Needs ten years easy, and maybe more. Lots of potential for this score to go up substantially.
