Friday, May 29, 2020 - Served side by side with a ‘16 Mikulski Meursault (general; non-1er), this zesty ‘15 Mikulski Poruzots 1er carried brighter focus and more chiseled mineral elements when compared to the general Meursault. The Meursault offering was openly more giving and flaunting on the front end (though certainly shows less limestone and saline elements next to its older 1er sibling), with a bit more of a fun-gushing profile when compared to the more decidedly serious and sophisticated Poruzots.

The Poruzots spoke more to its terroir, with striking sea/fossil-rocky minerality swirling with lemon and lime flavors. Finishes direct and deliberate, with notable focus and chalky linearity. 94 points for the Meursault (which is where it will likely top out for me). 95-96+ points for the Poruzots.
