  • Superb vibrancy and freshness. Lemon, lime, wet rock, tantalizing, almost spicy mineraility. Excellent lenght. Up there with the very top.

  • Similar to previous notes, and likely the best bottle of this wine I’ve had yet. Awesomely vibrant and punchy fresh squeezed lime and lemon juice, citrus zest, wet limestone, quince jelly, and unripe honeydew flesh. Excellent length and verve. Finishes flavorfully long with the reverberation of the zesty citrus notes on the back end. Drinking wonderfully now.

  • Served side by side with a ‘16 Mikulski Meursault (general; non-1er), this zesty ‘15 Mikulski Poruzots 1er carried brighter focus and more chiseled mineral elements when compared to the general Meursault. The Meursault offering was openly more giving and flaunting on the front end (though certainly shows less limestone and saline elements next to its older 1er sibling), with a bit more of a fun-gushing profile when compared to the more decidedly serious and sophisticated Poruzots.

The Poruzots spoke more to its terroir, with striking sea/fossil-rocky minerality swirling with lemon and lime flavors. Finishes direct and deliberate, with notable focus and chalky linearity. 94 points for the Meursault (which is where it will likely top out for me). 95-96+ points for the Poruzots.

  • Lemon and lime zest, fresh squeezed lemon juice, lemon curd, butterscotch, almond meal, poached yellow pear, and wet river rock. Vibrant and rich (without being "riiiiiich"). Finishes with a great zing and zip while also delivering the goods on depth and intensity. A fantastic bottle of wine. 95-96 points. Drink now and over the next 5-7+ years.
