Wednesday, December 29, 2021 - I have found every other Trout Gulch I've tasted (2013, 2017, 2018) to need much more time cellaring. This is the first vintage that I've had where the wine is ready to drink. What a beauty, very chablis like with that salinity and oceanic mineral - and very well balanced. Just entering what should be a very nice long drinking window. What a great american chardonnay truly made in a burgundian fashion. My last remaining bottle I'd like to try blind alongside some 1er cru chablis and white burg.
