Opened but not decanted about thirty minutes before dinner. The nose bursts with ocean breeze, lime and tangerine. Similar palate with addition of salinity and minerality. Lovely and holding well.

Removed from the cellar and allowed to warm to @ 75 degrees farenheit. Crystal clear, straw, yellow in color. Enticing subtle lemon curd, cantelope and limestone on the nose. Medium to full bodied palate with lemon, peach, melon and limestone. The pleasant finish is long to very long. Wonderful. Drinking very well with plenty of time left in the cellar. No rush. I always confuse this wine with Burgundy.

I have found every other Trout Gulch I've tasted (2013, 2017, 2018) to need much more time cellaring. This is the first vintage that I've had where the wine is ready to drink. What a beauty, very chablis like with that salinity and oceanic mineral - and very well balanced. Just entering what should be a very nice long drinking window. What a great american chardonnay truly made in a burgundian fashion. My last remaining bottle I'd like to try blind alongside some 1er cru chablis and white burg.

Always a fan. Interestingly this bottle was a bit more expressive on day 2. Would drink these now
