Wednesday, May 17, 2023 - Pessac Leognan seems to be the appellation that often does really well in mediocre vintages. 1997 was categorized as an early drinker, and it was, due to its lighter body and softer tannins. 25 years later we still have an amazing wine at hand still in the drinking window. Outstanding nose, jumps from the glass with all the Bordeaux forest floor, dark fruit, oak spice and farmyard notes. Elegant palate with melted tannins. One of these, "that's why we drink Bordeaux bottles".
