90 Points

Sunday, January 29, 2023 - This has been open for 24 hours. Really lovely, unique aromas, showing a lot of green herbal characteristics, spice, briar, and perhaps just the slightest bit of cranberries... really not too much fruit on the nose, though. Palate shows similar herbal and briar characteristics, but the red fruits do dial up here a bit more. Really nice integration of all structural elements. The wine feels round and complete. Pretty. Finish dials in with a bit of white pepper, chili flake and lots of acidity. After a few moments some pretty strawberry fruits blossom on the finish, and this carries deep with the acidity long after you swallow. This would be a great wine to pair with food. Definitely on the lighter side for Oregon Pinot (thank god), but it is very beautifully integrated in its lightness. Just not the most complex of the Three Barrels. I actually wish it had a bit more heft to the body and fruit, but just a BIT more... I definitely prefer my Pinots on the lighter side of what's coming out of Oregon these days, but this is indeed quite lean. I still have 7 bottles left. Not sure where they're headed, honestly. Seems like I need to drink (and note) these more regularly.
