Saturday, May 5, 2012 - Very nice but rather one dimensional and monolithic well aged entry level Aussie cab - in a great drinking window now and do not look for this to improve - plan on drinking the remaining bottle soon paired with steak or lamb. Paired very well with pepper steak tonight but too big and not soft / complex enough to be a true sipping wine on it's own. Good QPR wine at just over $ 20 / bottle. Very dark, full bodied and with a long lingering aftertaste, reasonably well balanced. Nose big, delicious and fruit forward with dark fruit and a hint of eucalyptus which was actually more pronounced on the palate. Primary flavors included eucalyptus / mint on the late palate and dark fruit, cherry and a hint of oak up front. Decanted for over an hour and definitely needed that. I would recommend drinking up any holdings soon and pairing it with big meat. I do NOT think, as RP apparently does, that this stands up in any way to a $ 75 - 100 CA / Napa cab.
