Saturday, August 12, 2023 - Quite popular, traditionally vinified and widely available Chateauneuf-du-Pape for a fair price. 80% Grenache with for the rest Syrah, Mourvèdre and a lot of other allowed grape varieties. Needed some time to unfold in the glass. Medium fairly evolved color with quite a bit of tan. The aromas are dominated by the Grenache with ripe red fruit and a typical scent and taste I associate with roasted peanuts. In fact a wine for tasters who don’t like the more flamboyant wines of the appellation. This wine is ready to drink and should not be stored for too long.
