Wednesday, January 20, 2021 - My favorite WS single vineyard - and this is a top-notch vintage for Allen. The ripeness and extraction are right on the mark and everything is in terrific balance. I opened this today because I am impatient with my cellaring but this makes for great drinking now provided that you like wine on the young and fresh side. But if you open now, give it at least a 60 minute decant as this was fairly tight when I first opened it. My guess is that this is going to be a stunner in 4 to 5 years when it further integrates, but there is no need to apologize for opening it now provided you give it some air first.
