We drank this after finishing the 2017 vintage. It was smoother, with my refined flavors and a much bigger mouth feel. Not necessarily a better, but much more relaxed profile with two more years. Color was much darker and would take this one over the 2017 no questions asked.

medium red-purple color, sexy nose of ripe cherries and plums with some stem notes, linament, on the palate leather and cherry, a bit of underbrush already, hints of black fruits, fine length, as alluring as it is at the moment this needs time to mature, develop and come into full focus, the wait will surely be worth it.

My favorite WS single vineyard - and this is a top-notch vintage for Allen. The ripeness and extraction are right on the mark and everything is in terrific balance. I opened this today because I am impatient with my cellaring but this makes for great drinking now provided that you like wine on the young and fresh side. But if you open now, give it at least a 60 minute decant as this was fairly tight when I first opened it. My guess is that this is going to be a stunner in 4 to 5 years when it further integrates, but there is no need to apologize for opening it now provided you give it some air first.

Another great one from WS. Bright ripe red fruit. Drinking well right now.
