2015 Radio-Coteau Pinot Noir Alberigi

Sunday, July 4, 2021 - This was quite simply an outstanding pinot and easily the finest Radio-Coteau I've had. Something hauntingly profound on the nose. Wet earth, saddle leather, cigar shop, fresh baked cherry clafoutis, warm asphalt after it rains. The wine is incredibly complex on the palate. Roasted mushroom, unlit cigar, a bit of horse shit. Morello cherry, strawberry preserve. After a few hours I start to pick up the hallmark of Radio-Coteau for me. Graphite. Pencil lead and ripe strawberry. The finish is expansive. There is an indescribable quality to this. Like when I first had Dujac, there is a harmony you are not expecting. Flavors you haven't had before. What an incredible wine.
