Sunday, December 3, 2023 - translucent ruby color with the earliest bit of bricking at the rims. the usual tuscan brush showed on a savory nose along with dust, balsamic, roasted cherries, and fennel. light to medium bodied with a sort of sour acidity. lithe, elegant mouthfeel. fruit a bit thin on the palate at first, though this gained a body with air and a couple of hours. sour cherry fruit and earth on the palate. medium length finish with scattered dusty tannins clinging for life. just a bit of astringency there. started feeling thin and lacking but gradually rounded into a tasty, pretty wine. not one to pair with steak or hearty sauces, honestly did better as a wine of contemplation later in the evening. i've had plenty of wines from the maker. almost all have been spectacular, and while good, this one falls a bit short of that.
