Friday, April 28, 2017 - The 2015 Bond Vecina is a ringer for a pomerol, and yet has no merlot at all in the wine, which is pure Cabernet, but from a volcanic site with unique mineral composition that carries into the wine. Very deeply purple, the wine (sampled from barrel) is richly aromatic and flavorful, with a nose that showcases red cherry pastille and vanilla, fresh hay, and then a striking aroma of cocoa with a backdrop of menthol and underbrush. Richly mouth-filling, it literally coats the palate and again, that dark chocolate dimension is very striking. Endless finish. I'll call this 97 now, but probably the final wine is 96-98.
