91 Points

Sunday, January 23, 2022 - 2 hr decant. Big initial whoosh of blueberry, peppermint, dark chocolate. Palate full of plum compote, dark cherry, pepper, and a tough vegetal note. Quite high acidity. I can really see the split opinions on this because on the one hand, there is some really compelling power to this. On the other hand, there is a little muddiness to the mid palate. Overall less finesse than the 2015. Still a good choice for a big steak. While this is fine I don’t think this is the best edition of this wine.
Score: 91. Relative to expectations: 0
