Tuesday, June 17, 2014 - With Paul H and Stephanie on the patio with pizza - drank next to an 01 Greenock Creek Apricot Block, great comparison of two premiere Aussie wines.

Dark garnet color. Decanted for about 30 minutes, drank over 2 hours. Its been several years since I have had this vintage, still very young. has the signture grange nose of oak/cedar black fruits. Dark fruits, blackberry compote, savory meats, cedar, cinnamon, mint. Long and layered finish.

Stylistically, this was acutally more refined than the Greenock, even as a "big" wine on its own. As noted, this is very young and will no doubt add complexity as it ages. Will be good for a couple decades from this point....really special wine
