Sunday, September 1, 2013 - Tasted the Lynch Bages 1996 and Pontet Canet 1996 together. While both exhibited mature notes and classic Pauillac nose, the Lynch Bages had a creamier, fuller and more complex nose. On the palate the Pontet Canet was more angular and lean compared to Lynch Bages which had sweeter fruit. Both wines are in good balance. The finish of Lynch Bages is longer.
