Wednesday, March 21, 2012 - (Tasted Blind) Easily WOTN. From your fist sniff after the pop and pour you know you're in a whole different league here. It had great fruit density and an absolutely awesome exotic spicebox nose. The group was calling 2004 high-end left bank Bordeaux and I could totally see that, although it would have to be a modern producer and the wine would have to have been very open. For my palate I would like to see more prominent secondary notes to fall in love with this wine (or at least more delineated secondary notes). Any earth, mushrooms, or leather were still pretty integrated with the fruit. But there's no doubting this will please fans of both modern and traditionally styled wines and it is just gorgeous! Thanks for sharing this with the group AML!
