Saturday, April 29, 2023 - Opened up to swirl and sip, the nose was of black cherry with a slight earthiness. Poured into a decanter to serve with dinner. On the menu, filet mignon with black truffle, lobster, baked potato and green beans. After 1.5 hour decant, it was like blackberry pie, fine leather, with a faint vanilla chaser. The tannins are smooth, chewy and silky, leading to a medium finish. The finish lingers a little, but it is a good thing. In my opinion, this wine is at its peak and drink now. It may go a little bit longer. This was a rare find that we got from the winery, but tonight is a special occasion. Cheers!
