Saturday, February 16, 2019 - Must, stong balloon, and a hint of jam on the nose. The fruit is subtle, like cooked lingonberries without the acidity and not sour. There is a bit of a briny tang of cocktail olives in the finish. There is a good dealt of slate propped up by chalky tannins. The finish is significant, but not impressive. I think the wine could develop over the next few years. I’m curious if the balloon will dissipate in the nose. I think the wine has a good QPR as long as it is under $20.
