14.4% alcohol; real cork with 30 mm maximum wine seepage, cork aroma of wet apple skins; heavy foil; long legs, dark purple/brown color; nose of generic fruit essence dominated by cooked apples, hint of peppermint; tasted at 20 degrees C twenty minutes after opening; full bodied, tannins form the base with forest floor and spiced apple sauce, additional spices like cinnamon, cloves and cardamom; well balanced components, long finish; pair with Wagyu beef, grilled medium rare

Must, stong balloon, and a hint of jam on the nose. The fruit is subtle, like cooked lingonberries without the acidity and not sour. There is a bit of a briny tang of cocktail olives in the finish. There is a good dealt of slate propped up by chalky tannins. The finish is significant, but not impressive. I think the wine could develop over the next few years. I’m curious if the balloon will dissipate in the nose. I think the wine has a good QPR as long as it is under $20.

My wife and I tasted this in the Woodinville tasting room on 12/27/18. It had a dense, ripe nose of cassis, mocha, cocoa, spice and mineral aromas. The palate was taut and medicinal with flavors of cassis, black cherry, toast, herb and spice.

Controlled bramble on nose
Soft dusty texture. Plum, olive and blackberry to finish
