Monday, September 25, 2023 - Consumed over 2 days, stored in Somm du Vin, note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, deep ruby with slight edge browning. nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, sweet tobacco, saddle leather, and bell pepper - ringer aromas for a slightly aged cabernet. Palate: Clean, medium+ tannins are soft but persistent, medium acid, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, 14.5% abv with flavors of black cherry, earth, and bell pepper with a medium+ finish.

Balance: Outstanding
Length: Excellent
Intensity: Excellent
Complexity: Excellent

IMO this is about the best you could hope for with a 9 year old $50 Cali cabernet. It's a pure expression of the cabernet grape made in near perfect balance, love it. Drinking superbly at the moment and will likely do so for another 2-3 years if well cellared.
